Subject: 18th Annual Green Turtle Club Billfish Tournament, Day Two of fishing
Date: May 20, 1999
Submitted by: Sue Graves, Tournament DirectorA fleet of 19 boats headed out of the Green Turtle Club's dock early this morning, again in picture perfect weather. Another successful day was reported by the fleet. Five blue marlin releases and one sail fish were released bringing the total for just two days of fishing to eleven blue marlin releases, one white and one sail. The UpTick has taken the lead in total releases with 600 points. Captain Kenny Bristor even lost another with a double hookup prior to lines out of the water. This is one of the boats out of New Orleans, Louisiana.
The non-billfish division has intensified with Glen Silker on the Predator out of Cocoa Beach bringing in a 66 pound wahoo. He is leading The Recovery Room by over 100 points.
With the weather, sea conditions, and fishing cooperating, the majority of the fleet will take their three out of four days fishing tomorrow.
Dockside activities have included a magician, caricaturist, face painting and a dockside cook-out ... and that is just for today.
