The 1999 RTIA (Regatta Time In Abaco ... July 5 through July 11), started in the smoke-shrouded (due to raging wildfires in Florida), almost becalmed waters off Green Turtle, and was a huge success for all concerned. With more than 40 sailboats participating, the Regatta's festivities extended from Green Turtle to Man 'O War, Guana, Hopetown and ended in Marsh Harbour.

After all is said and done, the Abaco islands are all about water.

The Abacos are about sailing and yachting and snorkeling and diving and deserted islands and seaside settlements and beach-combing. In truth, The Abacos are the rainbow-streaked, technicolor definition of the Bahama's single most valuable asset - the gin-clear, turquoise and cobalt streaked seas, bights, bays, flats, harbours and palm-fringed beaches which offer dazzling panoramas in 'most every direction.

Whether you're a casual boater, occasional cruiser, seasonal sailor, run-about owner, or a dedicated yachtsmen, "Nautical News of The Abaco Islands" will have news you can use.
