About The All Abaco Regatta

The Eighth Annual All Abaco Regatta will be held off the Regatta Village shore at the Treasure Cay ferry dock in September (exact dates to be announced). This is a sailing competition among Bahamian work boats, with the Abaco Rage as Abaco's entry. In past years The Rage has won easily and continues to improve. The Rage was built in Man-O-War in the mid 1970s and was sailed by a Man-O-War crew in competitions in the southern Bahamas, doing very well. Of late is was not raced. It was purchased in 1997 by residents of Hope Town and has been restored and sailed in several competitions, still maintaining its reputation as a highly competitive work boat. Another boat expected is Lonesome Dove captained by an Abaconian from Moore's Island.

While the sailors are racing, shore activities keep everyone entertained. A domino tournament and a Whist tournament will be played on Friday with the finals of each competition to be played on Saturday. Evening events on Friday include a Junkanoo competition. On Saturday the awards and closing ceremony will conclude the sailing competition. Music on both Friday and Saturday nights will be provided.

DJ's will be providing music beginning at 10 a.m. each day and on into the night while food and drink vendors will do their part in keeping the crowds happy.
